| Description |
|
The campus design of Keio University in Fujisawa preserves existing trees and natural topography as much as possible; this existing landscape is a key factor in forming the new campus scenery. Education and research facilities are allocated around a Media Center, which sits in the center of the campus. Similar to an information network, each of the facilities within the loop road is linked with public access ways. The buildings are divided into clusters according to their function and character. Despite their particularities, through siting and material qualities they give a unified impression, maintaining integrity as both individual buildings and as a university 'city'. |
